Every renter and host uploads their driving licence during signup. Our team manually reviews the document and approves or rejects the account before they can book or list a vehicle — it’s a human-reviewed process, not an instant automated check.

The deposit amount is set by the vehicle owner and shown on the listing, but it’s collected and agreed directly between owner and renter at handover — BookMeDrive doesn’t process or hold this payment. We recommend both sides photograph the vehicle’s condition together before and after the trip.

We check that the owner’s third-party insurance and PUC certificate are valid before a listing goes live, and that status is shown on the listing. This is the vehicle’s own policy, not additional coverage from BookMeDrive — renters should confirm coverage terms with the owner directly.

Owners have 2 hours to accept or decline a booking request. If there’s no response in that window, the request automatically expires — so you’re never left waiting indefinitely on a host who’s gone quiet.

Every listing’s RC, insurance, and PUC documents are reviewed by our team before it goes live. Verified listings carry a badge on the vehicle card and detail page so you can spot them at a glance.

Since deposits and handover terms are agreed directly between owner and renter, we recommend settling details in writing (chat) and photographing the vehicle together at pickup and return. Reach out to our support team through this page if you need help mediating an issue.

Your phone number and documents are only used for account verification and to connect you with the other side of a booking — we don’t sell your data, and your licence documents are reviewed internally, not shared publicly.

Yes — reviews are only left after a completed booking, so ratings on an owner’s profile reflect renters who actually rented from them.

Inspect the vehicle against the listing before you hand over any deposit or drive off — you’re always free to walk away from a booking that doesn’t match what was listed. Report mismatched listings to our support team so we can review the account.

Yes — owners review each booking request (including that the renter is licence-verified) and can accept or decline it themselves. Nothing is auto-approved on their behalf.
