Self-drive rentals in India ran on hope, not proof
Before BookMeDrive, peer-to-peer car sharing meant trusting a stranger off a classifieds listing — no identity checks, no document verification, and no easy way to talk to the other side before showing up. Owners feared damage and no-shows. Renters feared scams and unsafe vehicles.

We’re a peer-to-peer marketplace, not a fleet-owning rental agency. Every vehicle on the platform belongs to an individual or local business who lists it themselves — we don’t own or operate any vehicles.
We’re currently live across the Chandigarh Tricity region: Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Kharar, and Zirakpur. We plan to expand to more cities as the platform grows.
Any vehicle owner who completes licence-based KYC and has valid RC, insurance, and PUC documents for their vehicle can create a listing, once our team reviews and approves it.
At this stage, listing a vehicle and browsing on BookMeDrive is free — we’re focused on building a trustworthy marketplace first, before layering in any transaction fees.
